Navigating Home Based Learning - Panel Discussion

Looking for help with your kids doing school from home? How can we as parents “own the moment” and help our kids thrive in this season of home based learning for lots of us? Join us at Port City on Thursday, September 3rd at 7 pm as we hear from a group of parents who have been down this road of homeschooling and have some ideas and best practices that can apply to those of us who find ourselves here in this season. We’ll meet in the Studio 3 Cafe, be practicing social distancing, and asking that all who attend wear a mask while in the building. Click here to register.

If you can’t attend, you can listen to the event as a podcast later but we hope you can make it!

Daddy-Daughter Dance

Dads and daughters are invited to join us on Saturday, February 8th from 6:30 - 8:30 for our 5th annual Daddy-Daughter Dance. It’s a great night to have a ton of fun together and make some great memories. Cost is $25 per family. SPACE IS LIMITED so click here to register.

Here are a few details about the night:

  1. There is no official dress code, but we’re encouraging you to make it a special night.  I’m sure your girls will want to wear their best Sunday dress, so wear whatever you want to help her know it’s a big night for you too (you’d be amazed the message this will send).

  2. We’ll have a dessert bar, but don’t plan on dinner at the dance. We’d recommend making dinner a part of the date either at home or out.

  3. We’ll also have a few takeaways for you and your daughter(s), so don’t leave without your “swag.”

  4. Just so you know, there will be volunteers available in rest rooms to assist those in need.

  5. Finally, we’ll have three photo booths for you to get a great picture so make sure you take advantage of that opportunity.  Each of the booths will be exactly the same.  Again this year we’ll be using YOUR PHONE to take the photos so you’ll have it immediately.

Your kid is changing every week! Just as you begin to figure them out, they shift or move on to a new rhythm, a new habit, and a new opinion. It can make the responsibility to shape a child’s faith and character feel overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to. Check out the new Parenting Through the Phases Small Group Study launching on Sunday, February 10th and running until March 17th. The group will meet on Sunday nights at 5 pm and we’ll have some great conversations.
